Well, the Clippers do this deal if they’re done trying to compete for an NBA title.
Perhaps they should be. This Clippers team felt foolproof heading into the 2022-23 season. As it turned out, we were likely fools for believing that.
The main issue has been health. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are both very injury prone. It’s difficult enough to make a deep playoff run with one star you can’t rely on. It’s practically impossible with two.
If the Clippers are ready to admit defeat, this is an interesting package. They could get more draft capital elsewhere, but not if they want a young player like Barrett.
