Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal
Some Nets fans will be opposed to any proposition that has them moving Bridges.
That’s fair. He’s the brightest spot on their current roster. Moreover, the Nets owe their first-round picks to the Houston Rockets for the foreseeable future. Shouldn’t any move they make be a win-now move?
Perhaps. On the other hand, this deal leaves the Nets with a lot of draft capital. In fact, they’d have the second most impressive collection in the NBA behind the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In time, they could use that draft capital to acquire a true superstar. As talented as Bridges is, he probably won’t be the first option on a contending NBA team.
