Why The Chicago Bulls Do The Deal
For Chicago, this deal largely hinges on where their pick actually lands.
If it falls within the top-4, this is obviously off the table. They’re keeping their pick. On the other hand, if it falls within the 8-14 range, they may opt to shop LaVine for a more enticing package.
Let’s say it lands in the sweet spot. If this is the fifth or sixth pick in the draft, it’ll give the Bulls the opportunity to draft a prospect with star potential. This deal looks a lot sweeter if they’re bringing in a player like Cameron Whitmore or Ausar Thompson.
Of course, that’s not all they’re getting here. Fultz is starting to flash star potential in 2022-23. Isaac may never get his career started, but his contract expires soon and his upside remains immense.
