The Sacramento Kings are contenders for the NBA championship. 

Stop what you’re doing. Take that in. It’s probably the Cinderella story of the 2022-23 NBA season. 

After all, this team hasn’t even earned a postseason berth in 16 years. That’s an NBA record. This team may have been satisfied with the play-in tournament this year.

Instead, they’ll likely go into the playoffs with home-court seeding. 

Still, it feels like this group is a piece away. If the Kings had an elite 3-and-D wing, they could become very serious contenders. If that player doubled as a secondary shot creator, that would be even better. 

In other words, they could use Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers
