When a decision is important, you shouldn’t rush to make it – unless time is a factor. Sometimes, time is a factor for NBA teams.
That’s when things get difficult. You still don’t want to make a rushed decision. The goal is to make a good decision in a rush. That’s easier said than done.
When a team is underperforming, and they’ve got an aging star player, they need to quickly make a decision. Ideally, they’ll avoid trading him after he’s aged out of peak value.
This is the concern the Portland Trail Blazers are facing. They seem apprehensive to trade Damian Lillard. That’s fair. He’s been the face of the franchise for a decade.
At the same time, they don’t appear to be getting anywhere as currently constructed.
Could they send him to the New Orleans Pelicans this summer?
