Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal
At the risk of repeating ourselves, the Nets do this deal because Ingram is a more dynamic offensive player than Bridges.
One wonders what he’d do at this stage in his career as an offensive focal point as well. We’ve never seen a fully developed version of Ingram with his team. He may produce like a superstar on the Nets.
Meanwhile, this team still won’t be lacking for 3-and-D wings like Bridges. Dorrian Finney-Smith is outstanding. If the Nets can retain Cameron Johnson as a restricted free agent, they’ll be fine in that regard – especially with Nic Claxton in the middle.
In other words, they’re in a position where they need a primary playmaker and shot-creator more than they need an elite perimeter defender.

This isn’t complicated – the Nets need Ingram more than they need Bridges. He could be their guiding light.
