Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal 

The Lakers may not have a player like O’Neale. On the other hand, the Nets may have too many of them. 

The Nets acquired Mikal Bridges at the deadline, along with Cameron Johnson and Dorrian Finney-Smith. They’ve got a surplus of 3-and-D wings. 

With that said, they could use a player with a little more creation ability. Hachimura has flashed some potential in that regard. He could break out on the Nets. 

This deal comes with a caveat. Hachimura would have to accept his player option and then be involved in a sign-and-trade. He shouldn’t be opposed to that.
