Why The Toronto Raptors Do The Deal 

As we said, the Raptors have a lot of talent, and they’re mediocre anyway. Let’s talk about why that is. 

This team doesn’t have a player who can create in the half-court at will. Siakam is a good isolation player, but quicker defenders can limit him. Fred VanVleet is good too, but he’s not quite a true offensive alpha. 

Lillard is the alpha omega. The logic for the Raptors isn’t complicated here. They’re acquiring a bonafide superstar point guard. 

In doing so, they could get back to title contention. People have long suggested that Lillard would thrive alongside an elite two-way wing.
