Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal 

There is no need to be a professional in order to figure out what the Wizards are trying to accomplish here. 

There is no doubt that they have put together one of the best backcourts in the NBA. It is a decision that justifies itself. As a result of adding Young to this core, the Wizards should be able to elevate their game significantly. 

This would be particularly true if they were able to hold onto Kristaps Porzingis in free agency. As we haven’t seen Young play with a stretch big as big as him yet, who knows what kind of offense he might be able to open up? 

There is no doubt that this deal could push the Wizards to the brink of competing for the title in the near future. There hasn’t been there in a while, and it’s a place they haven’t been to before.
