Why The Toronto Raptors Do The Deal

To the Toronto Raptors, the question of whether Anunoby is capable of adding additional playmaking skills to his game is moot. It doesn’t seem like they are likely to explore this option.

After all, it’s likely that Scottie Barnes will be the primary playmaker for this team in the near future. As long as the Toronto Raptors do not intend on trading Pascal Siakam and letting Fred VanVleet walk, Anunoby seems to be destined for 3-and-D opportunities in the future.

In that case, Josh Green should have no problem with it. He seems to be content to play that role, and he does it well. With his frantic yet controlled energy, this young wing is able to impact the game at both ends of the court.

Of course, he’s not as good as Anunoby. As a result, the Toronto Raptors will be able to get two first-round picks in this deal as well as a swap. In the end, Anunoby received a solid return for his efforts.
