The NBA All-Star Game didn’t provide much fireworks on the court as multiple players and coaches said that wasn’t real basketball being played. While people try and figure out how to make the game more exciting, the announcing teams gave plenty of reasons to tune in.

On TBS, there was an Inside the NBA telecast of the All-Star Game that featured the regular cast of Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith. As part of the crew, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors worked as a sideline reporter.

During the fourth quarter of the game, things got a little bit heated during the telecast. Barkley, who isn’t afraid to speak his mind, let Green know that he feels the Warriors are done for. Green, never one to back down, went back and forth with Barkley, throwing in some barbs of his own. The back-and-forth was shared via Awful Announcing.

Green: This could be a year you see a 6-7 seed in the Finals…

Barkley: I hate to say it, but the Golden State Warriors are cooked.

Green: That’s crazy. You said that last year, but we all know you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Barkley: No, I didn’t say that last year. No, I did not say that last year.

Green: You said it every year. You said it every year since I’ve been in the league.

Barkley: No, that’s not true.

Green: Oh, this is crazy.

Barkley: But ya’ll are cooked now.

Green: Are we?

Barkley: Yep, ya’ll are done. D-O-N-E.

Green: It still leaves us four ahead of you, boss.

Barkley: I’m telling you, ya’ll are done.”

This is far from the first time that Barkley and Green have gone at each other and likely won’t be the last. A few years ago, Barkley referred to Green as Mr. Triple-Single as he didn’t average double-figures in any stat. Green’s rebuttal once again was taking a shot at Barkley not winning a ring during his career, much like he did during their most recent exchange.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors & Charles Barkley Updates

While Green was never going to let what Barkley said slide, the Hall of Famer may have a point. The Warriors have struggled mightily this season, as they are currently 29-29 on the season and in ninth place in the Western Conference.

A lot of people will point to Stephen Curry’s second absence as being the reason for their struggles, but even with him on the court, Golden State has struggled to consistently win this season. They have to figure things out away from the Chase Center as the Warriors are 7-22 on the road this season. Only the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets have fewer victories away from home this season.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors & Charles Barkley Updates

Barkley’s bulletin board material could help light a fire under the Warriors in the second half of the season. But, if they don’t figure things out on the road, the Warriors may not even have a chance to defend their title in the 2023 postseason.
