Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal
There are two possible paths that the Nets could take this summer. In either case, this deal should be a good fit for them.
For a 29-year-old, they’ll get a couple of second-round picks if they’re rebuilding their team. Furthermore, Beasley is only 26 years old. From that perspective, this deal makes a lot of sense.
In contrast, if the Nets have a surprisingly competitive season, they may look to stay in a win-now mode even if they have a tough season. In that case, it would still make sense for this deal to be done – in that case, it would still make sense to do it.
On the other hand, the Nets have an impressive collection of three-and-d wings as opposed to the Lakers. As long as they manage to keep Cam Johnson, sign a veteran for a cheap price to complement Mikal Bridges, and they won’t miss Finney-Smith at all.
By adding Beasley in this roster, they would be able to create a more dynamic movement shooter and a better athlete for transitions.

In some cases, it has been said that when you trade your best player in a trade, you lose the trade. It would be a challenge to that wisdom if this deal were to go through.
