If you don’t get an opportunity, you won’t be able to show the world what you can do. That’s as true in the NBA as it is anywhere else.
Sometimes, young players don’t get the opportunities they likely deserve.
For example, look at Onyeka Onkongwu of the Atlanta Hawks. This is a quality young player. Onkongwu is a versatile defender who can finish lobs. He’s a good player.
Unfortunately, he’s just not as good as Clint Capela. Onkongwu has been buried behind Capela for the duration of his NBA career so far.
It’s hard to imagine when he’ll be able to usurp the veteran in this team’s rotation.
Could the Dallas Mavericks acquire him this summer?
