The NBA is a star-driven league. It’s always been that way, and in all likelihood, it always will be.
Typically, the team that wins the NBA title features a top-5 player. In basketball, a singular talent can dominate the competition more easily than they can in other sports.
Of course, every team can’t have one of those players. The league has 30 teams. Sometimes, a team that doesn’t have an MVP candidate tries to compensate by assembling a cast of B-list stars.
The results are mixed. This season, the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards both resemble such teams.
It feels fair to say that neither is likely satisfied with their season so far.
Could the Bulls send the Wizards DeMar DeRozan this summer?
