The Golden State Warriors are the defending NBA champions but certainly haven’t looked like it this season. They have struggled to find consistency on the court, navigating two injuries to Stephen Curry while attempting to contend and develop at the same time.
Relying on the younger players to step into bigger roles has backfired on Golden State and it sounds like they are ready to make some changes. Looking to remain competitive and compete again, the Warriors could be open to moving some of their younger players for more established talent.
While Jonathan Kuminga was considered off-limits by the Warriors, James Wiseman and Moses Moody were reportedly available in trade talks. It sounds as if Golden State is moving toward pulling the trigger on a deal that could be centered around Wiseman.
According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, the Warriors are in conversations with the Detroit Pistons on a deal that is centered around Saddiq Bey. The Pistons hold an interest in Wiseman, the No. 2 overall pick from the 2020 NBA Draft, and he could be part of the deal heading back to the Motor City.
Based on Fischer’s report, it sounds as if the Warriors are going to make a deal today; it is just a matter of which team they will complete it with. Landing Bey would certainly bolster the team’s wing rotation behind Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson.

Bey is in his third season in the NBA as he was picked 19th in the same draft as Wiseman. But, he has far out-produced his draft mate, proving durable during his career thus far playing in 204 games.
The Villanova product has shown some scoring ability as a professional, averaging 14.5 points per game. Surrounded by more talent and playmaking, there would certainly be optimism that he can improve his efficiency.

His free throw shooting percentage of 84.3 percent lends some hope that he would be able to get things on track from 3-point range in the right situation. There wouldn’t be a much better atmosphere to figure things out offensively than with the Warriors.
