Cam Reddish Trade Rumors: Pistons, Nuggets Linked

Cam Reddish, New York Knicks, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The New York Knicks are a team that has been involved in a ton of NBA trade rumors recently. They have been linked to a number of different players, as Leon Rose and the front office search high and low for impact acquisitions to make.

New York made a bid to acquire Donovan Mitchell in the offseason from the Utah Jazz. But came up short as he was ultimately traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Everyone in the basketball world is waiting for that next All-Star-level player to become available as the Knicks are primed to make a splash.

Finally, it seems unlikely that a deal of that magnitude will occur ahead of the trade deadline this year. New York is playing much better basketball in recent weeks. Breaking up the nucleus of that group could be a detriment to the franchise.

Instead, if the Knicks are going to be involved in a trade, it will likely be on a smaller scale. A few players on their roster have garnered some attention from around the league. One of whom is Cam Reddish.

Reddish was acquired by the Knicks last season from the Atlanta Hawks. In exchange for Kevin Knox and a protected first-round pick via the Charlotte Hornets. The No. 10 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft was seeking a larger role when he requested a trade from the Hawks. But that has not come to fruition in New York.

Instead, Reddish found himself on the outside looking in of the Knicks’ rotation when Tom Thibodeau made his lineup changes in early December. Reddish hasn’t gotten on the court since December 3rd and it seems like he very well could have played his final game in a Knicks uniform.

During a recent episode of The Putback with Ian Begley on SNYtv, it was revealed that the Detroit Pistons and Denver Nuggets have both shown some level of interest in acquiring Reddish. The Los Angeles Lakers had also been linked to Reddish but opted to make a deal for Rui Hachimura instead. The Dallas Mavericks are out of the running now after acquiring Kyrie Irving.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Cam Reddish, New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets & Detroit Pistons Updates

New York is seeking two second-round picks in exchange for Reddish. As the front office is looking to move on and accept that he was a sunk cost. Minutes would assuredly be easier to come by with the rebuilding Pistons. But landing with the contending Nuggets could provide Reddish prime opportunities to showcase his talents on the biggest stage of the NBA Playoffs.
