Fair enough. He’d be a sensible target for the Blazers, and he seems unhappy in Phoenix. Ultimately, we decided we couldn’t include him in the deal. 

After all, the Suns are doing this deal to contend. Acquiring an aging Lillard only to lose their starting big man doesn’t make sense.

The idea for Phoenix here is to retain their Finals core while upgrading at the point guard spot.
