Why The Chicago Bulls Do The Deal
In some ways, criticisms of Simmons can be unfair. In other ways, they’re legitimate.
He does have a tendency to pass up open shots. He needs to fix it. At the same time, give him this – Simmons is always trying to make the right play.
The Bulls may actually benefit from rostering him. With Lonzo Ball on the shelf indefinitely, they need a point guard. Meanwhile, Simmons may be maximized alongside a stretch big like Nikola Vucevic.
At the same time, that’s not the main reason the Bulls get involved here. Effectively, they’re taking a flier on Simmons while acquiring a pair of future first-round picks for their trouble.
