The Phoenix Suns are a team that will assuredly look to make some moves ahead of the 2023 NBA trade deadline. They have managed to stay afloat without Devin Booker in the lineup, but even when he was healthy, this team could use a few upgrades to continue looking like a contender.

The frontcourt is where the team could use an infusion of talent. The loss of Jae Crowder has been significant as he has been away from the team since training camp. Trading him is atop the team’s to-do list in the next week.

What kind of package they are going to be able to receive is anyone’s guess. The Suns have reportedly given Crowder permission to talk to the Milwaukee Bucks, who are one of the teams that have been connected to him. In addition to Milwaukee, the Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics have all been linked to him.

Another team that could emerge from the woodwork in Crowder negotiations is the New York Knicks. New York is looking to consolidate its roster, and Crowder could fill their need for some more depth on the wing.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Cam Reddish, New York Knicks & Phoenix Suns Updates

A proposed trade by Bobby Marks of ESPN would have Crowder landing in The Big Apple in exchange for Cam Reddish, Svi Mykhailiuk and a 2027 second-round pick. The Knicks would address their need for depth behind RJ Barrett as they are lacking a true small forward in the rotation with Reddish out of it.

With seemingly no plans to play Reddish, the Knicks would be smart to flip him for anything of value. In this scenario, he lands in Phoenix where he can showcase his talents before hitting restricted free agency this summer.

Minutes should be available for Reddish right off the bat in the desert with the second unit. The Suns’ bench has struggled at times this season and he fits the mold they are looking for as a long, athletic wing that can thrive while playing positionless basketball.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Cam Reddish, New York Knicks & Phoenix Suns Updates

On the season Reddish is averaging 8.4 points on 44.9 percent from the field, which would be the highest mark of his career. He was struggling with his jump shot, making only 30.4 percent of his 3-point attempts. But, there is some hope he would be more efficient with a more consistent role, which he could find with the Suns.
