As a matter of fact, stardom or bust has never been a good bar to measure NBA players against.
To begin with, just making it to the NBA is an accomplishment in itself. There is no way to exaggerate the fact that if you make it to the NBA, you either have amazing basketball skills or are 7’4″ tall.
Even then, establishing yourself as a valuable role player earns you even more credit in the eyes of others. I believe that if you are able to stay in the NBA rotation for a long period of time, you have accomplished more than many other very good basketball players will ever be able to achieve in their careers.
Take Royce O’Neale and Joe Harris, for example, as examples. In my opinion, neither of these players has ever resembled anything like a star.

In the same way, they’re both highly respected role players in this league, and they both play very important roles.
Would it be a good idea for the Nets to part with them?
