Jazz Shopping Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Mike Conley

Utah Jazz, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

At this point in time, it is anyone’s guess as to what the Utah Jazz are going to do ahead of the 2023 NBA trade deadline. Depending on the offers that are made, they could go either way becoming either sellers or buyers.

If Utah opts to become buyers, Dorian Finney-Smith of the Dallas Mavericks is a player to keep an eye on. They reportedly covet him, but to this point, the Mavericks’ asking price has been very high.

But, if they were to include him in a deal, it would likely be a blockbuster deal. If that remains the case through the deadline of February 9th, it is hard to imagine the Jazz would be a match as one of the pieces rumored to be involved in trade talks between the teams is Malik Beasley.

Speaking of Beasley, he is one of the players that the Jazz are shopping around the league. Despite their success, this season, being sellers and adding more assets is the likeliest route that Utah takes in the next week.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, Beasley, Mike Conley Jr., and Jarred Vanderbilt are the players they are making the most calls about. Suspiciously absent from that list is Jordan Clarkson. Clarkson has a player option for the 2023-24 season many predict he will decline, but he has seemingly been identified as a keeper for the Jazz.

Conley would likely prefer being traded to a contender, with the LA Clippers being a rumored landing spot going back to the offseason. But, the logistics of getting a deal done could prove difficult.

Beasley sounds to be the likeliest of the three to be moved as he is involved in the most rumors. A solid scoring option off the bench, plenty of contenders would love the 3-and-D skillset he brings to the table.

Vanderbilt would be a nice addition to plenty of rosters as a high-energy big man who chips in across the board. On a very team-friendly contract through 2024, it is surprising more cash-strapped teams aren’t lining up to acquire him, which hints at the asking price being very high.
