Although a player can be talented – if they are truly worthy of a championship rotation, that is a deceivingly high bar. If you are able to step onto the court during the NBA Finals, you are probably good enough to start somewhere on the floor.
The Denver Nuggets are looking to move Bones Hyland, one of their best young players, as it is one of those players who has a lot of upside. The Nuggets are interested in competing in the Finals this season and they might not think Bones Hyland will be able to do so.
In the meantime, it has been reported that Denver is seeking a first-round pick for Hyland. They may go that route. On the other hand, this team wants to be able to reach the NBA Finals.

There is no doubt that parting with a rotation player midseason without a clear replacement behind him would be a step back in the short term, and with a superstar like Nikola Jokic in his prime, such a move must be handled with great caution.
