Of course, sometimes, it’s not a case of GM hoarding players. Sometimes, they really can’t find a deal for them.
Typically, that’s true of players on bad contracts. If your team has a player who’s making too much money, don’t hold your breath waiting to see them move. It’s entirely possible that it won’t happen for a while.
Such is the case with Duncan Robinson. When the Heat paid him, it wasn’t apparent that he was as much of a defensive liability as he is.
Now, they’re strapped with a bad contract.

Not only does Robinson make a pretty penny, but his deal runs through 2026-27. All told, it’s considered one of the worst contracts in the NBA.
