The Raptors do this deal because they clearly aren’t contenders. It’s time to at least retool. 

We’re far from the first to suggest dealing Anunoby. In fact, he’s one of the hottest names on the trade market.

Recently, it’s been rumored that a “mystery team” offered three first-round picks in exchange for him. 

That feels a tad pricy. Anunoby is an outstanding 3-and-D wing, but he hasn’t shown a lot of potential as a primary offensive option in Toronto. On the other hand, two first-rounders feel like a fair deal.

When you add in Mitchell, that holds especially true. He’s a quality defensive guard who can handle the ball and space the floor. He could be a smart long-term addition to this team.
