Why The Phoenix Suns Do The Deal 

It’s no coincidence that as Paul has begun to show his age, the Suns have begun to decline. 

At 24-24, this team is a shell of its recent self. Yes, they’ve dealt with plenty of injuries throughout the season. That doesn’t change the fact that Paul appears to be declining. 

It may be time to replace him. If so, Rozier could do the trick. He’s a vastly different player – Rozier will never have Paul’s playmaking instincts – but at this point, he’s a more impactful one. 

Meanwhile, there are other benefits in this deal for Phoenix as well.

They could use an athletic wing like Oubre Jr., and they’d be happy to get off of Shamet’s contract as well.
