Every young NBA player has a ceiling. They have a floor, too.
When we talk about a player’s ceiling, we’re talking about how good they’ll be if they’re as good as possible when they hit their time.
By contrast, their floor is a worst-case scenario.
A young player with a high floor is a valuable commodity. If he’s already a valuable contributor, he’s a desirable player. Who knows what he could be?
For example, take O.G. Anunoby of the Toronto Raptors. At 25, he’s already one of the best 3-and-D wings in the NBA. Could he be more?
