Why The Los Angeles Clippers Do The Deal 

Some will be apprehensive about this deal for the Clippers. 

To be sure, there’s some concern about forfeiting a first-round pick when you’re .500. Nobody is denying that. At the same time, what choice do the Clippers have? 

This team doesn’t own its first-round pick in the upcoming draft. Even if they did, tanking wouldn’t be palpable. They’d have to sell low on Leonard, jeopardizing their present and future. 

The Clippers might as well forge ahead. Upgrading at the point guard spot would seem like a smart way to do it.
