Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal 

Reuniting with Ntilikina is only part of the benefit for New York here. 

Although, it does count. Ntilikina is a hard-nosed defender and solid floor spacer. In other words, he’s exactly the type of player Tom Thibodeau is known to put his trust in.  

At the same time, that’s not the only benefit for the Knicks here. They need to get whatever they can for Reddish. By now, it’s obvious that they won’t be using him. 

This deal brings back an expiring contract in Ntilikina. It also brings back an extremely manageable one in McGee.
