The New York Knicks are due for a star NBA player – aren’t they?
They play in the biggest market in the league. It just happens to be the basketball mecca.
Yet, it’s hard to even recall the last true star to play on the Knicks.
It feels like this front office is well aware. This summer, they hotly pursued Donovan Mitchell. They fell short in that pursuit, but they should be expected to be in the market for any disgruntled star.
At the same time, at 25-21, the Knicks have been competitive without one. Perhaps they don’t even need a player of Mitchell’s caliber.
Would Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls do?
