Everybody doesn’t get paid what they’re worth. The same holds true in the NBA.
It may not be fair, but it’s true. Have you ever worked yourself to the bone for a boss who seems to sit in his office collecting paychecks? What does he even do, anyway?
In particular, quality young players don’t get paid according to their worth. That’s simply because they’re still on their rookie contracts.
Sometimes, that can make for interesting trade possibilities.
For example, Jalen McDaniels of the Charlotte Hornets is still on his rookie contract. He’s also developed into a quality 3-and-D wing. McDaniels is going to be paid handsomely on his next contract.
