The New York Knicks have been mentioned in plenty of NBA trade rumors over the last few weeks as they look to reshape their roster for the stretch run of the season.
A blockbuster is likely out of the mix given how much better they have played over the last few weeks of the season, but a smaller trade is certainly within the realm of possibility.
Evan Fournier, Derrick Rose, Immanuel Quickley, and Cam Reddish are the players that have been mentioned with the most regularity as potential trade candidates. Quickley is the only one of the four currently in Tom Thibodeau’s rotation, so he likely has the least chance of being moved.
On the opposite end of the spectrum sits Reddish. It feels like a matter of when, not if, he will be moved by the Knicks as he has been unable to earn consistent minutes in Tom Thibodeau’s rotation. Even when RJ Barrett missed time recently because of a laceration to his finger, Reddish’s number wasn’t called as Thibodeau opted for Fournier.

Trade talks are reportedly intensifying centered around Reddish and one of the teams that are showing interest in him is the Dallas Mavericks. According to Marc Stein on his Substack, some potential deals are already being discussed between the two sides.
Sources say that the Knicks, though, are angling for Dallas to send Thibodeau favorite Reggie Bullock to New York in a Reddish deal, who is likewise held in high regard by the Mavericks.
Reggie Bullock had arguably the best season of his career with the Knicks during Thibodeau’s first season with the team in 2020-21. The North Carolina product averaged 10.9 points per game and connected on 41 percent of his 3-point attempts.
He parlayed that into a nice free-agent deal with the Mavericks, signing a three-year deal worth just over $30 million. The Knicks are in the market for an upgrade to their wing rotation on the second unit and Bullock would provide that. His salary for the 2023-24 season is partially guaranteed so the team could move on from him with relative ease if they chose to do so.

Given his familiarity with the team, it shouldn’t take long for him to assimilate himself back into the mix should he be acquired. He was a favorite of Thibodeau’s and would be a nice complement to the rest of the roster off the bench given his 3-and-D skill set.
