The Detroit Pistons are a team to watch as sellers ahead of the NBA trade deadline. Bojan Bogdanovic has emerged as a prized trade target to monitor, with no shortage of playoff contenders needing to add a wing sharpshooter.
Bogdanovic was surprisingly traded to the Pistons in the offseason after the Utah Jazz opted to undergo a rebuild. Along with Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, he was moved to gain draft capital in a restart.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, among the teams pursuing a trade for Bogdanovic include the Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Dallas Mavericks.

Sources have told NBA Analysis Network since shortly after the Detroit Pistons traded for Bogdanovic that a goal for the organization is to “flip” him for a first-round pick after featuring him in their offense. Reaching an agreement on an affordable two-year contract extension was meant to fuel those efforts.

Bogdanovic is currently having a strong season, averaging 21.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists. He’s shooting 48.7 percent from the floor and 41.5 percent from 3-point range. He’s improved his production to career-high averages in points and assists, fulfilling the Pistons’ goal of boosting his trade value.
Following the season-ending injury to Cade Cunningham, there is no outlook for the Pistons to be playoff contenders this season. Jaden Ivey is receiving opportunities to play through mistakes, but otherwise, there is not much to strive for in the short-term other than draft positioning.
