Frankly, this is an excellent price for Conley. 

As talented as the veteran floor general is, he’s aging. He’s also a small guard who, despite solid fundamentals, is a defensive liability at this stage in his career. He may not fetch a first-round pick on the trade market. 

If he does, it’s likely to come from the Clippers. This team is otherwise light on assets – a distant first-round pick is about the most that they can afford in exchange for Conley. 

Meanwhile, adding Boston Jr. doesn’t hurt either.

He hasn’t had a lot of opportunities in the NBA so far, but when he’s made the most of the floor time he has seen. Boston Jr. has the athletic profile of a potential star.
