That has an obvious value. Turner is one of the best 3-and-D big men in the NBA. He will significantly upgrade this team.
It’s hard to say what they’ll do with current starting big man Mitchell Robinson. In all likelihood, they’d move him. His rim protection abilities are similar, but he’s a complete non-shooter.
Meanwhile, the pairing between Turner and Julius Randle feels perfect. If this goes well, it would give the Knicks an inside track on signing Turner to a long-term deal.
