Don’t get too attached to your favorite NBA player. Some day, they’ll age out of their prime. Father Time is undefeated. No matter how gifted a player may be, a time will come when they simply can’t produce like they used to.
It appears as though the time has come for Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns. He remains a productive NBA player, but at 37, he can’t carry an offense like he used to.
Paul’s decline was on display during the Suns’ series against the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals during the playoffs. He became increasingly passive as the series progressed to the point of being a non-factor in Game 7.
Currently, Paul is struggling to get the job done for the Suns while Devin Booker recovers from injury. Phoenix has been sinking in the standings as a result. Could it be time for a change?
Meanwhile, the same holds true for Kyle Lowry of the Miami Heat. He hasn’t lived up to the big contract he signed just a few years ago. Now, he appears to be best suited to be on the move.
Could they swap sides this season?
