With that said, James is nearing retirement. At 38, he has to be. Luckily, the league is in good hands. 

Giannis Antetokoumnpo feels like the strongest candidate to take his mantle. At the same time, don’t rule out Luka Doncic. Generally speaking, the league is bursting with exciting young talent. 

Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons is another example. In some respects, he resembles James more than anyone as a jumbo playmaker.

Unfortunately, he’s out for this season with an injury. 

On the other hand, his draft mate Evan Mobley is another exciting young talent. Meanwhile, unlike the Pistons, his Cavaliers are ready to start winning games.
