Charlotte Hornets Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL), 2029 First-Round Pick (Swap – LAL) 

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Terry Rozier, F Gordon Hayward 

If the Lakers are looking to add two fringe stars, either of these deals should suffice. 

In this one, they’re giving up a pick and a swap rather than two first-round picks. We figure DeRozan has the most trade value of any player involved in either of the last two trades. 

That doesn’t mean Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward aren’t valuable. Both Charlotte Hornets veterans would make this Lakers team better. Rozier is an aggressive scoring guard and floor spacer, while Hayward makes up a portion of Westbrook’s playmaking ability without conceding the same spacing. 

On the other hand, the Lakers may prefer a different approach.

They may be holding out on moving Westbrook’s contract until they can get a star player in return for it.
