Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal
At this point, the Wizards have to concede defeat. Don’t they?
Granted, this organization has been hesitant to do so. The Wizards have been on the mediocrity treadmill for a number of seasons.
Entering 2022-23, they hoped the addition of Kristaps Porzingis would get them off of it.
It hasn’t worked. In fact, at 15-21, the Wizards are having as poor of a season as they have in recent memory. Surely, it’s time to accept that the Beal era has come and gone.

If the front office agrees, this is as good of a return as they’ll get. Two first-round picks and a swap is still solid value for Beal, and meanwhile, Trent Jr. is still young enough to be part of a rebuilding effort.
Should the Raptors give all of that up for Beal?
