Desperate times call for desperate measures. NBA teams know this as well as anybody.

If your team is supposed to be contending, and they’re underperforming, you get desperate. It may be time to take action. 

At 13-19, the Lakers must be getting desperate. This team is old and expensive – they’re supposed to be good. By now, they must see the need to make dramatic changes. 

Meanwhile, at 17-16, the Hawks shouldn’t be as desperate. At the same time, they’ve had a disappointing season.

At the very least, they could justify making a significant move. 

Here’s a deal that has them making one by sending John Collins to the Lakers.
