Why The Phoenix Suns Do The Deal 

For a few years now, we’ve been asking the same question about these Suns: what will they do when Chris Paul retires? 

After all, Paul is far off the rest of this team’s timeline. This was always a concern in acquiring him. With that said, replacing him with Trae Young is a pretty intriguing option. 

In doing so, the Suns would likely relegate Paul to a sixth-man role. At his age, that may actually suit him well. Paul is a great off-ball player, so he’ll be able to line up with either Young or Devin Booker at any given moment. 

Obviously, flipping Bridges for Young would hurt this team’s defense. They’d be moving one of the best defenders in the league for one of the worst.

At the same time, their offense should absolutely explode. Just like the rumor mill would if Young actually does request a trade.
