Why The Golden State Warriors Do The Deal 

The Warriors have been on a dynastic run, but at the moment, it looks like it might be on life support. 

At 15-18, this team wouldn’t even qualify for the play-in tournament if the season ended today. We’ve been debating whether the Warriors ought to cash in their young core for win-now help for a while: if they want to contend this season, it may be the year to do it. 

Especially if a talent like DeRozan is on the table. If you haven’t noticed, he’s developed into an excellent playmaker in recent years. Surrounding him with the Warriors’ spacing should make for an extremely potent offense. 

It may not be the perfect fit. DeRozan himself is not a great shooter – and neither is Green. With both of them on the floor alongside Kevon Looney, that spacing may suddenly look less than elite.
