Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal
It shouldn’t be seen as a harsh criticism to say Bradley Beal isn’t a player who can lead a contender. Very few players can.
By now, that should be obvious to Washington. They haven’t really had a chance at winning an NBA title throughout Beal’s entire career – and they haven’t even had a remote one since John Wall was in his prime.
This deal could be a sign of what’s to come. If the Wizards went on to move Beal, that might be what’s best for all parties.
At the same time, if they remain unwilling to do so, even retooling is better than the status quo.

Should the Mavericks put this much emphasis on the present?
