Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

If this deal is on the table, the Lakers need to take it now. Right now. Rob Pelinka needs to cancel all other plans immediately. 

Sure, Beal is in decline. For that matter, so are LeBron James and Anthony Davis. For that matter, the entire Lakers organization is in shambles. Any shot they can take at salvaging their situation is worth taking. 

This happens to be a good shot. Whether or not he’s in decline, Beal remains a high-caliber player. Frankly, he’s better than anyone who’s ever linked to the team who isn’t named Kyrie Irving – and he comes with his own issues. 

We all know James and Davis need a co-star who can shoot. That’s why the marriage with Westbrook hasn’t worked out.
