Miami Heat Receive: F/C John Collins 

Atlanta Hawks Receive: G/F Duncan Robinson, G/F Caleb Martin, 2023 First-Round Pick (MIA) 

From a strict talent perspective, this isn’t an upgrade for Atlanta. From a fit perspective, it might be. 

After all, Martin may not be as dynamic of an athlete or overall offensive player as Collins. He is a better shooter and defender. Given how much of the Hawks’ offence is generated through their backcourt, that may be a higher priority. 

Meanwhile, this team could even use Robinson’s spacing. Dejounte Murray is limited in that aspect, so any shooting the Hawks can add is a positive. 

As for the Miami Heat – this is a pure talent grab. They’re getting the best player in this deal in hopes of turning their season around.
