This never looked like a roster that would seriously compete for an NBA title. Unfortunately, the Bulls parted with ample draft capital in order to assemble it – including their pick in the upcoming draft. 

With that in mind, some will suggest that the Bulls can’t afford to bottom out. Perhaps. At the same time, they don’t necessarily need to with this deal. Anunoby is a highly impactful player. 

He might also be one with untapped potential. If there’s more to Anunoby’s game than he’s been able to show in Toronto, he’ll have an opportunity to showcase it in Chicago.
