Indiana Pacers Receive: F Saddiq Bey, F Bojan Bogdanovic
Detroit Pistons Receive: G Aaron Nesmith, F Chris Duarte, C Goga Bitadze, C Daniel Theis, 2023 First-Round Pick (via CLE), Future Protected First-Round Pick via IND
This trade would certainly surprise a lot of people. But, the Indiana Pacers ownership has shown that they would prefer to be competitive than go into a full-on rebuild, so this deal helps them do that.
Saddiq Bey has shown that he can be a rotation player in the NBA, but the crown jewel of this deal is Bojan Bogdanovic. It would be the second shocking landing spot for him this year as no one predicted he would land with the Pistons when the Utah Jazz made him available.
Both players would present a nice upgrade at the forward spots for Indiana, providing a little more size and versatility. For Detroit, this trade is about adding more long-term assists as the team is going nowhere fast.
Aaron Nesmith and Chris Duarte are both on rookie deals still, providing Detroit two more chances at developing young players.
