This Pacers-Pistons Trade Features Saddiq Bey

Saddiq Bey, Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

One of the most surprising teams in the NBA thus far this season has been the Indiana Pacers. Indiana dove headfirst into a rebuild early in 2022, trading away Domantas Sabonis, Torrey Craig and Caris LeVert ahead of the trade deadline.

The rebuild continued in the offseason as Indiana also traded Malcolm Brogdon to the Boston Celtics.

The Pacers could go deeper into that rebuild trading away Buddy Hield and Myles Turner, who have been involved in plenty of rumors. However, at 12-9 on the season, their plans may be changing on the fly.

If Indiana believes they have enough pieces in place and want to go for a playoff run, they could opt to make an upgrade to the roster this season instead of moving their veterans.

One team that could make for a good trade partner for the Pacers to toe the line of both is the Detroit Pistons.

Saddiq Bey is someone that the Pacers could sell as both a win-now move and one that was made with the future in mind. In his third season out of Villanova, Bey has improved his 2-point shooting percentage but has seen his 3-point efficiency plummet.

Being shifted to the bench the last two games, could Bey be falling out of favor in Detroit? If that is the case, he makes for an intriguing trade target for the Pacers.

What could a trade between the Central Division foes look like? Let’s take a look at this deal that results in Bey landing in Indiana.
