In fact, the years he spent with Gregg Popovich in San Antonio seemed to do wonders fo his playmaking. They also make it easier to picture him in this Jazz system.
DeRozan may be aging out of true superstardom, but he still draws a double team. More importantly, he still knows how to kick out of them. In the context of a team that already moves the ball so well, that ought to create opportunities.
This is not the direction the Jazz were expecting to go in this season. That doesn’t mean it’s not the right one.
