This team has been surprisingly competitive in 2022-23. It appears as though acquiring Kristaps Pozingis is paying dividends. Between him and Badley Beal, the Wizards suddenly have two stars on their roster. 

With that in mind, they might as well remain in win-now mode. This deal has them upgrading their roster: Quickley is obviously a more talented player than Gill. 

In fact, following this deal, the Wizards would have two guards who can create their own shot.
