For what it’s worth, something seems off with Bey this year.
He’s in a bad shooting slump. That happens to players all the time – especially young ones. Still, it’s fair to wonder whether or not he’s lacking chemistry with either Cade Cunningham or Jaden Ivey.
Those two currently look like the future of Detroit basketball. Unfortunately, Cunningham is hurt, and it’s unclear when he’ll return. With that in mind, it could make sense for the Pistons to kick the can on the 2022-23 season.
If they decide to do so, they won’t find many more valuable assets than a distant first-round pick from the Lakers. This team is old, and struggling – who knows where they’ll be in 2027?
